In other years, EC drove the train and dominated our lives. This year, it is AIG doing that. It's caused us to have to "cross team," which utterly disrupts everything. Eleven students in my homebase don't have math with our math teacher. When we have field trips or other events, that will hamstring both teams dealing with these students. Our assistant principal, in charge of schedule, says we "must" do it this way. He is but 31, has never taught middle school, and seems a bit full of himself since our former principal left. Hopefully, this will be resolved. How is the question.
A student scheduled to come to us has been under "house arrest;" I am not sure exactly why, but it has something to do with his being violent. Efforts are underway to assure he does not come to us, but who knows?
Our deputy superintgendent is requiring us to jump through some hoops regarding reading. Not only that, but she has personally intervened in some student behavior issues. Guess which ethniticity those students are.
I've said that the decision on retirement will depend on whether I pass national boards, but now, I have begun to wonder....
Public education becomes more difficult with each passing year.....
