Ah well....

It appears that the "suits" will win this round and the children will lose. So what else is new? It's happening all over the state and the nation. Children first? A sad joke. That hasn't been true for a long time now.

So I just need to set my face like flint (where'd that come from?) and just move ahead, doing the best I can with what we have. Just because the "suits" have lost perspective does not mean I will.

I have made a personal decision, as I believe I have mentioned once already. If I certify for national boards, I will seek placement in a REAL middle school, somehow, someway. If not, I shall put in my retirement papers for the state of North Carolina and seek placement with either a good charter school or with an overseas school. As I know I have said many times, my problems are not with the kids, just with the jack asses who are in charge.

Labor Day week, the "unofficial" end of summer....could that be real? Summer sure went by in a flash. I keep saying that I will stay home next summer, but really, that all depends, on a lot of things.

The political climate, from my point of view, has turned very hostile. The GOP is set to sweep both of the state houses in North Carolina and to seize at least one house of congress. Faux news and those goofs from the Tea Party crowd have distorted the truth and stirred up the peasantry. Sad, but we have a lot of dim witted, uneducated people in this country and these dweebs from the right wing are exploiting that to the max. Many things need to change in this country; Obama pledged to do that and when he did, The Glenn Becks and Newt Gingriches portrayed him as a "marxist" and worse. So many forget the reasons we got ourselves into this financial mess, not to mention gotten ourselves bogged down in two winless wars. When their kind take over the country, as they seemingly will, I don't want to be here to see it.

If I retire, the my course is obvious. If I pass national boards....well, you know, I just may retire anyhow....

Things are become that bad.
